The O'Donnell Family

(as published in the Richmond Review in 1951)

The O'Donnell farm homestead on Meskill road, just off Bauman road, Columbus township, has been in the family's possession since the 1860's and the O'Donnell family settled in Columbus over 100 years ago. Cornelius J. O'Donnell, grandfather of Robert O'Donnell, who lives on the homestead now, married Katherine Conway in 1867. She had come to Columbus with her parents when she was five. Of their 10 children, only one, William, is still living. He lives on the O'Donnell farm with his nephew, Robert and family. Another brother, John, who died in December, 1950, had been supervisor of Columbus Township for 10 years previous. John's wife was the former Margaret Thelen of Richmond.

In addition to John's son, Robert, who is married to the former Ruth Greenia of Richmond, a son, John, Jr., lives in Utica and a daughter, Rosemary lives in Detroit.
